Got the full Sky package but the On-Demand facility is a waste of fucking time as I only get 1.7MBPS through their broadband as I apparently live too far away from the source.

If I want to download a film, it'll easily take over 10 (TEN) hours to complete. I spoke to them only yesterday, and they offered me fibre optic broadband for an additional £20 a month, on top of the £92 I already give 'em...

No thanks, will be putting in a call to Virgin over the weekend to see what they can offer...

I can offer a discount for anyone who wants Virgin, just WHOMail me.

Over the next 5 years Virgin Media is investing £3BN into the network and infilling

VTP (Voice Transition Project) will remove the use of a twisted pair to the door and move to voice over fibre.

I CURRENTLY LIVE OUTSIDE OF VM NETWORK!! CABLE RUNS 50 YARDS AWAY AT THE BOTTOM OF MY CUL-DE-SAC.

I was the best internal fitter at NTL, as it was known back then........used to fit Cable at celebs gaffs.

Then when I was moved onto service, I was the best fault finder. They would have 6 service engineers out to a job over a period of a month to find a fault then they would send me when the customer wanted to cancel to which I would find the fault in 10 mins.

Virgin is great for me but it totally depends where you live, other houses I've lived at they've been shite

Re: sky tv or virgin media???
Having virgin disconnected today. Terrible service. Paying for 100Mbps and getting 4 is not ideal. They basically told me that my house was blocking the wireless signal. I had it wired at the time.

Sky coming round to reconnect me tomorrow.

Re: sky tv or virgin media???
Had Sky until last week.

In my area the internet was unusable and owing to it being so green the trees interrupted the TV signal.

Virgin Broadband is a huge improvement on anything I have used before however the TV is not as user friendly. Better HD picture of Virgin but worse normal picture.

Re: sky tv or virgin media???
Virgin will always beat Sky when it comes to Broadband as they don't rely on BT Openreach copper wire.

Sky, however, provide a better TV service with easy to use products and better customer service.

What a lot of people do is switch from one to another, year by year to get the best 'New Customer' deals
